We have seen many notch display smartphones, some were ugly whereas some were minimal but this new smartphone from Sharp, the Sharp Aquos R2 has gone way too far with its two-notch display.
The Sharp Aquos R2 is the world’s first smartphone to sport a dual-notch display. The phone itself is pretty weird to look at but it’s brings something new in the room.
The smartphone features a 5.2-inch FullHD+(1080×2280) display which Sharp calls as ” freeform” display due to it’s weird looking design. The display here is a 120 Hz refresh rate display and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
It has two notches as mentioned, top-notch caries an 8MP front camera and a couple of sensors whereas the notch at the bottom houses a fingerprint reader. It also has a 22.6-megapixel single rear camera with OIS support.
The smartphone has a 3.5mm headphone jack which is rare these days. It surprises more with it’s Dolby Atmos loudspeaker and USB Type-C port. It is backed up by a 2,500 mAh battery and IP68 water and dust rating.
The Sharp Aquos R2 is currently available only in Japan for now but it is expected to launch in other countries too but it is highly unlikely to launch in India. But if it does we will the one to update, so stay tuned on Phone Razer for more on this smartphone.
