Just recently Analyst Ming-Chi-Kuo announced the Apple iPhone shipment forecast and it was suggested that in the fourth quarter of 2018 and third quarter of 2019, the Apple iPhone XR shipment were estimated to be 100 million units.
But now the smartphone’s shipments are downgraded by 30%. This means the Apple iPhone XR shipments is now estimated to 70 million units which is very shocking for component suppliers and other investors. The number of first two quarters of 2019 have also decreased by 25-30%.
Apple consumers are not satisfied with the Apple iPhone XR as it lacks some features which are mandatory in 2018, i:e. the dual camera and a sharp full HD screen. Since dual cameras and full HD screens are common in even midrange smartphones these days, the hefty price tag of iPhone XR with no such features is probably what killing its sales.
Granted that it’s a cheaper iPhone model but in some countries like India and China the price of the Apple iPhone XR is very high and so its one of the sole reason for the decrease in sales.
The Huawei Mate 20 series phones at an almost same price point of iPhone XR are offering some ground-breaking features and specs that it’s a great alternative and so consumers from China are preferring Huawei Mate 20 series smartphones.
If in the coming months the iPhone XR price is slashed down to a reasonable price (which is suppose to happen) the consumers may go for it rather than some other alternatives.
