Huawei Reveals Flagship Huawei P9 Won’t Be Receiving Android Oreo Update

Huawei P9

Earlier this year, the Chinese Smartphone Giant Huawei released the Beta version of the Android Oreo Software for a ton of it’s flagship smartphones such as the Huawei Mate 9 as well as the Huawei P9 Line-Up. But now according to an official email sent by Huawei Support UK, it certainly appears that the company has cancelled the update for it’s Huawei P9 smartphone.

The Smartphone which was launched way back in the year of 2016 with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, has so far received one major Android update to the version 7.0 Nougat. However, despite all of this, it seems like Huawei has finally decided that it’s P9 Smartphone is not at all capable of running the most latest version of the operating system, stating that the hardware limitations may lead to problems or issues such as “system built-in function failure, device freezing, and power consumption increase.”

Considering the fact that Huawei released the Android Oreo Beta Version for the smartphone, it’s certainly quite surprising to see the company backtrack at such a late stage in the development. Nonetheless, it still remains a mystery that whether the Huawei P9 Plus or the Huawei P9 Lite will receive the update or not. Taking into consideration or account the email listed hardware limitations as the main issue, even though, these two Smartphones shouldn’t be expected to receive the update either.
