Xiaomi recently announced that their 2016 flagship Xiaomi Mi 5 will receive the upgrade for Android Oreo. So obviously, the device has now started receiving MIUI Global Worldwide ROM for Android Oreo. This upgrade will also be consisting of the security patch for February.
For the new update for Xiaomi mi 5, there are also download options available for the recovery ROM, with the help of which the users can manually download the update to their phones very efficiently. However, the users are recommended to do a clean fastboot flash as the ROM includes a very heavy Android update.
The users are also recommended to backup their important data stored in the phone in case of any severe data loss which might be caused by the bugs in the new Android Beta Update. The important information to note is that the MI Users who are not enrolled in the MI beta programme will have to wait for at least one month or more than that to receive the official global Android Oreo update.
The changelog for the new update is as below-
